Affiliate disclosure

The money part,
plainly.

Some links on Fine & Useful earn us a commission. That is how the site exists. It does not change the price you pay, and it does not buy a product a place on a list.

What a Partner link is

Product buttons on Fine & Useful are sometimes affiliate links. We mark them Partner link. If you click one and make a purchase, Fine & Useful may receive a commission from the retailer or the affiliate network. The amount you pay is the same.

Not every outbound link is an affiliate link. Links to sources, guides, or a brand we mention without a commercial relationship are ordinary links.

What it does not buy

Affiliate relationships do not influence rankings, awards, or which products get included. We choose the shortlist first, then look for the most useful way to link it. A higher commission is not a reason to recommend a worse product.

Brands cannot pay for editorial coverage or a place in a guide. If we ever publish clearly labeled sponsored content, it will look different from our editorial work and will be identified at the top of the page.

Which programs we use

Fine & Useful works with affiliate networks and retailer programs. These may include Amazon and other retailers depending on the product and the country. Commission rates, availability, and program terms can change without notice.

When a link goes to a retailer, that retailer’s own terms and privacy policy apply once you leave Fine & Useful. We do not control what a retailer does with your data.

Why we do this

The alternative is advertising that interrupts the reading or a paywall in front of ordinary buying advice. Affiliate links let the guide stay free for the people who use it. If you would rather not use them, you can search for the product by name instead; the recommendation is the same.
