Privacy
Your data,
briefly.
Fine & Useful is a static publication. There are no accounts, no newsletter signup, and no first-party analytics or advertising cookies. Most of what a website ordinarily collects does not happen here.
What we collect
Fine & Useful does not ask for a name, account, or payment details. There is no comment system and no user profile. If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include in the message. We keep it only as long as needed to reply and keep a useful record of corrections.
Hosting logs
The site is served through Cloudflare. Like most hosting providers, Cloudflare processes technical information needed to deliver pages and protect the service, such as an IP address, browser type, requested URL, and timestamp. Those logs are handled under Cloudflare’s terms and privacy policy, not stored by Fine & Useful as a separate visitor profile.
Cookies
Fine & Useful does not set its own analytics or advertising cookies. The hosting provider may use essential security mechanisms, and a third-party retailer may set cookies after you click an outbound product link. That happens on the retailer’s site and is governed by that retailer’s cookie policy. We cannot see or control those cookies from Fine & Useful.
Affiliate links
Some product links contain an affiliate identifier. When you click one, the retailer or affiliate network may learn that the visit came from Fine & Useful and may record a purchase for commission purposes. This does not change the price you pay. The affiliate disclosure explains the commercial relationship.
Your email and your rights
If you have emailed us, you can ask us to delete that correspondence at any time, unless we are required to keep it for a legal or accounting reason. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to access, correct, or object to the processing of personal data. Write to hello@fineanduseful.com and we will do our best to help.
Children
Fine & Useful is intended for a general adult audience. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes
If the site adds a feature that changes what is collected, such as analytics or a newsletter, this page will be updated before that feature becomes active. The plain-language version will remain the version we publish.
